Schützenfest Bawinkel-Plankorth

Bawinkel-Plankorth Marksmen's Club since 1907

The Bawinkel-Plankorth marksmen's club has existed since 1907, looking back on over 110 years of club history. Its founding during the heyday of German club life at the beginning of the 20th century is typical of the numerous rural marksmen's clubs that structured social life in the villages at that time. To this day, the club is a central pillar of village customs and organizes the annual Schützenfest as the undisputed highlight of the club year.

Festival Tent at the Clubhouse Sports Ground

The marksmen's club maintains its clubhouse at the sports ground in Bawinkel (Am Sportplatz, 49844 Bawinkel), and the festival tent is also traditionally set up there. This firm anchoring at the sports ground makes the location a focal point of club life that fosters identity. The festival tent offers space for several hundred guests and is the venue for the marksmen's ball, King's proclamation, and King's dance during the festival days.

King Couple 2025/2026: Martin and Ingrid Feldker

The reigning King and Queen couple Martin and Ingrid Feldker have represented the Bawinkel-Plankorth marksmen's club since the 2025 Schützenfest. The royal title will be awarded anew at the King's shoot during the 2026 Schützenfest: Whoever shoots down the last splinter of the wooden bird will be proclaimed the new King and will choose his Queen. The proclamation of the new majesties and the honoring of the outgoing King couple are festive highlights of Sunday.

Bawinkel in the Samtgemeinde Lengerich

Bawinkel is a municipality in the Samtgemeinde Lengerich in southwestern Emsland. The region is characterized by an active club and festival culture, in which marksmen's clubs play a central role. The Bawinkel-Plankorth Schützenfest is an important date in the annual festival calendar of the Samtgemeinde and is also attended by guests from friendly clubs in the surrounding municipalities.
