Cross-generational neighbourhood festival at Erwin-Schoettle-Platz in Stuttgart-Süd-Heslach with music, culture, stage program, and gastronomy
When the Erwin-Schoettle-Platz in Stuttgart-Süd — in the Heslach district — is decorated with stages, stalls, and pennants on the last weekend of June, the Schoettlefest is back. From June 25th to 28th, 2026, you'll experience four days of a neighbourhood festival that describes itself as "cross-generational, vibrant" and "connecting". Four pillars shape the program: Music, Culture, Encounter, and Enjoyment. The festival is not a commercial mega-event, but a genuine community initiative — organized by associations, local artists, and committed Heslach residents.
The first two days run from 4 PM to 12 AM each day — making them typical after-work and weekend kick-off events. On the central stage, live bands, singers, DJs, and comedy acts alternate. The gastronomic offer focuses on Swabian and international specialties — from Maultaschen to vegan bowls and Mediterranean street food options.
Saturday, June 27th, 2026, 11 AM–12 AM, is the main festival day with a packed program: Children's workshops in the morning, family program in the afternoon, concerts in the evening until late at night. Various associations and initiatives from Heslach present their work — sports clubs, social initiatives, church groups.
Sunday, June 28th, 2026, 9:30 AM–8 PM, begins with brunch vibes and ends relaxedly in the evening. This is where the festival's open-stage tradition comes into play: Local musicians, comedians, poetry slam artists, and performers can play on stage — a low barrier, a direct audience, a real platform for the Heslach art scene.
The stage program is deliberately broadly positioned — from Indie Pop and Singer-Songwriter to Jazz, electronic music, and world music, as well as comedy and cabaret. The exact list of acts will be published in May/June 2026 in a PDF program on the festival website. The atmosphere on Erwin-Schoettle-Platz is relaxed, diverse, multi-generational — young families sit next to seniors, international residents of Heslach next to long-time locals.
The district of Heslach, with around 17,000 inhabitants, belongs to the Stuttgart-Süd district of Stuttgart. It lies on the slope of the Karlshöhe hill, overlooking Stuttgart's city center and the valley basin. Heslach has a distinctly multicultural character — almost 50 percent of the residents have a migration background, and Heslach is considered one of Stuttgart's most diverse districts. This diversity is clearly reflected in the Schoettlefest: culinary, musical, and cultural. Erwin-Schoettle-Platz itself — named after a post-war SPD politician — is the central meeting point of the district.
The Schoettlefest 2026 follows the proven four-day format. Thursday and Friday as afternoon/evening program (4 PM–12 AM), Saturday as the long main festival day (11 AM–12 AM), and Sunday as a relaxed brunch-open-stage day (9:30 AM–8 PM). The volunteer organizers of Schoettlefest e.V., together with the associations, initiatives, and Heslach residents, are putting together a varied program.
The stage at Erwin-Schoettle-Platz presents local bands, singer-songwriters, jazz combos, world music ensembles, comedy acts, and poetry slams. The detailed program will be published in the PDF program on the festival website in May/June 2026. The gastronomic offer ranges from Swabian classics to Mediterranean and international specialties, including vegan options.
Admission is completely free. Food and drinks at festival prices with great variety — from Swabian to Mediterranean and vegan, as well as international specialties.
