About Schmeckfestival
Schmeckfestival — edition 2026
For the 2026 Pentecost weekend, the Schmeckfestival returns to Wertachstraße 29. Over four days, more than 18 hand-picked food concepts will present their specialties — from African cuisine to vegan fusion food, each with tasting portions.
The major novelty of the 2026 edition is an approximately 700 m² indoor area with an industrial loft charm: an indoor art and creative market right next to the stage with live music. For families, there is a free play area with a bouncy castle and face painting on weekends.

Practical information — Schmeckfestival
When Wertachstraße 29 in Augsburg transforms into a culinary mile for four days, it's Schmeckfestival time. What began in 2015 has developed into one of Germany's best-known street food festivals: Over 18 food concepts from all over the country are hand-picked and tested in advance by organizer Daniel Debus before they are allowed onto the festival grounds at Senkelbach.
The culinary spectrum ranges from African cuisine (Kampala Takeaway) to Moroccan falafel (Bio du Maroc), Balkan cevapcici and handmade pasta to vegan fusion bao from Green Kitchen, churros, and coffee bikes. Drinks range from Portuguese wine to original Vietnamese matcha. Tasting portions are available at every stand, allowing you to sample your way around the world.
In addition to the food, a stage with daily changing live music shapes the festival — from hip-hop to creative acts. For families, there is a free children's play area with an oversized bouncy castle, face painting on weekends, and a photo wall with a voucher raffle. For 2026, a roughly 700 m² indoor area with an industrial loft charm is planned for the first time, housing an art and design market as well as a creative area next to the stage.
