Summer Festival at the Moated Castle

The Schlossparkfest Mitwitz takes place annually in the park of the Mitwitz moated castle – one of the most famous architectural monuments in the state of Bavaria, in the Kronach district of Upper Franconian Forest. Surrounded by moats, the Renaissance and Baroque castle provides an extraordinary setting for a convivial summer festival.

Supported by the Sports Club

The organizer is 1. FC Mitwitz, the local football club. The festival relies on the voluntary commitment of its members and is a social highlight for Mitwitz and the surrounding communities. The proceeds traditionally benefit the club's activities.

Program Until Late at Night

The Schlossparkfest spans a weekend, starting in the afternoon. Music, gastronomy with Franconian specialties, and a convivial get-together characterize the event, which continues into the night. The relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere in the castle park is what makes the festival so special.

The Mitwitz Moated Castle as a Backdrop

The Mitwitz moated castle, with its distinctive water moat, is one of the outstanding sights of the Franconian Forest. Today, it houses, among other things, an Ecological Education Center. The extensive castle park provides a unique, historically shaped setting for the festival.
