Two-day summer festival of the Klausen- und Traditionsverein in the Türkheim castle gardens, district of Unterallgäu
Türkheim — a market town with about 8,000 inhabitants in the district of Unterallgäu — boasts a neoclassical castle, the former summer residence of the Welfs, and its extensive castle gardens. This area is the venue for several events throughout the year, including the Schlossgartenfest organized by the Klausen- und Traditionsverein Türkheim e.V.
The festival is designed as a two-evening event: On Friday, July 31, 2026, a DJ will provide the musical entertainment from 7:00 PM onwards — a typical Schlossgartenfest mix of Schlager, party hits, and current charts. On Saturday, August 1, 2026, a live band will play from 6:00 PM onwards. As with many club festivals in Unterallgäu, the atmosphere is more relaxed and danceable than folkloric and traditional.
The organizer is the Klausen- und Traditionsverein Türkheim e.V., one of the town's traditional clubs. Klausenvereine (tradition clubs) preserve the customs surrounding the St. Nicholas and Klaus tradition in the Upper Swabian-Allgäu region — the Klausen procession on St. Nicholas Day is an important date in Türkheim. Stemming from this club tradition, the association organizes the Schlossgartenfest as a summer counterpart to the winter Klausen customs.
The market town of Türkheim is located about 15 kilometers northwest of Bad Wörishofen and is easily accessible via the A96 motorway. Its location between the Mindel and Wertach rivers in the gentle foothills of the Allgäu Alps makes it a relaxed summer destination; the Schlossgartenfest benefits from long, often warm summer evenings and the peaceful atmosphere of the historic grounds.
As is customary at Bavarian club festivals, the Klausen- und Traditionsverein handles the catering themselves: drinks from the beer stand, food from the grill, and snacks. The atmosphere in the castle gardens is summery and relaxed, with tables set up outdoors.
