Schanzenbräu Brewery Festival — Nuremberg Beer Culture in Höfen

Schanzenbräu is a craft brewery in Nuremberg, Bavaria's second-largest city and a district-free city in Middle Franconia. Evolving from a small inn brewery, Schanzenbräu has operated a production site in the Höfen district since 2016. Once a year, the brewery opens its doors for the Brewery Festival — a neighborhood and beer festival with free admission.

Freshly Tapped Schanzenbräu

The focus is on the beer: freshly tapped Schanzenbräu is served at several stations, along with the crisp Schanzenbräu Spritzz and non-alcoholic alternatives. Schanzenbräu stands for craft-brewed, regional beer and sees the festival as a thank you to its regular customers and the neighborhood.

Live Music and Program

The stage opens with the Jugendkapelle Rednitzhembach (brass band music), followed by Franconian dialect musician Karin Rabhansl and the band Sheila likes Tequila. Additionally, there are rugby and handball activities for spectators and participants of all ages — a festival that combines beer culture, music, and active participation.

Food Trucks and Catering

Culinary offerings include classics like bratwurst and burgers, as well as vegetarian and vegan options. Food trucks such as “Kleiner Veganer” and “Phil O Food” (Filipino cuisine) complete the selection. There's something for every taste, from Franconian classics to international street food.

10-Year Anniversary at the Höfen Location

2026 is a special year: Schanzenbräu celebrates the 10th anniversary of its production site in Höfen, which opened in 2016. The Brewery Festival is an expression of Nuremberg's vibrant craft beer scene and a fixed date for beer lovers from Nuremberg and the surrounding area.
