4th Advent in Sarstedt
While many Christmas markets end in mid-December, the Sarstedt market postpones its grand appearance to the end of the Advent season. This positions it on a weekend when markets in many other cities are already being dismantled – creating a special atmosphere shortly before Christmas Eve.
Four Days, Four Moods
On Thursday, the market opens from 3 PM to 8 PM, and on Friday from 2 PM to 8 PM. Saturday extends the program until 10 PM with DJ entertainment, turning the market square into a meeting point for young and young-at-heart audiences. New for 2026 is the opening on Sunday, December 20th, from 2 PM to 6 PM – a premiere responding to the wish of many Sarstedt residents for a final market day before Christmas.
Sarstedt in Northern Hildesheim
Sarstedt is located in the north of the Hildesheim district, in the valley of the Innerste river. The town, with around 19,000 inhabitants, is an important residential and economic hub between Hildesheim and Hanover.
