Electronic open-air festival with DJ sets and food trucks in the Bad Sachsa district of Tettenborn
The Rush of Summer Festival is a two-day open-air festival with a focus on electronic music. The venue is the sports field at Kreuztal in the Tettenborn-Kolonie district of Bad Sachsa. The rural, green location on the southern edge of the Harz Mountains provides an unusual setting for a DJ festival, giving the event a distinct character between an urban festival format and a rural summer celebration.
The festival is organized by DG Lighting in cooperation with the sports club SuS Tettenborn. DG Lighting is responsible for the event technology – stage, lighting, sound, LED visuals – while the sports club contributes logistical support and local integration. The business model relies on moderate ticket prices, professional technical equipment, and a clearly defined electronic lineup.
A food truck mile offering international cuisine – from burgers and BBQ to vegan bowls and Asian street food – complements the stage program. Cocktail bars and lounge areas provide places to retreat from the dance floor. This positions Rush of Summer as a complete festival experience, not just a stage event.
The event fills a gap in the southern Harz festival landscape, where Schlager, folk, rock, and Schützenfest (marksmen's festival) are the norm, and electronic music has hardly had a platform until now. Consequently, the festival attracts its own, younger audience from the surrounding university and major city areas of Göttingen, Nordhausen, and Kassel.
The 2026 edition confirms the two-day format. Tickets are sold via Eventim and Eventbrite, and advance sales have started. The exact DJ lineup will be announced by the organizer in the run-up to the event.
The exact DJ lineup for 2026 will be published by the organizer in the spring. The structure follows the proven cornerstones of previous years:
