About Rudelsingen Schwerin Castle

Rudelsingen is coming to Schwerin Castle as an open-air event for the first time: David Rauterberg, the inventor of the sing-along phenomenon, will personally lead an evening of communal singing in the courtyard of the UNESCO World Heritage castle. Two musicians will accompany him, and the audience will sing the greatest Rudelsingen hits – with no prior experience, no rehearsal, just at full volume under the open sky.

Profile

Rudelsingen is a nationwide sing-along format invented by David Rauterberg in the 2010s: hundreds of people gather, a singer leads, and songs are sung together – from songbook classics to pop hits. What began as an indoor format in bars and halls will premiere outdoors in the courtyard of Schwerin Castle in 2026.

Concept

David Rauterberg will personally host the evening, accompanied by two musicians (guitar, keyboard). The audience will sing together for over two hours – lyrics will be projected onto screens. It's not about vocal quality or skill, but about the communal effect of singing in a group. The format is all-inclusive and accessible.

Venue

Schwerin Castle courtyard is an extraordinary setting: the courtyard of the residential ensemble, registered as a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2024, framed by the castle's Neo-Gothic and Neo-Renaissance facades. The organizer is Kulturbotschafter Events, which is programming a whole series of open-air concerts in the courtyard in the summer of 2026.

Rudelsingen Schwerin Castle — edition 2026

The first Schwerin open-air Rudelsingen will take place on August 14, 2026, starting at 8:00 PM in the castle courtyard. David Rauterberg will personally lead the evening, accompanied by two musicians – over two hours of communal singing in one of Germany's most extraordinary settings. Tickets from €20.50.

On August 14, 2026, the courtyard of Schwerin Castle will transform into an open-air sing-along hall. David Rauterberg, the inventor of Rudelsingen, will open the Schwerin premiere of the open-air format. Lyrics will be projected onto screens; no one needs to prepare. The mix of historic castle scenery, open-air atmosphere, and mass singing promises an extraordinary evening experience.
