Morning Rosenmontag parade in the Unkel district of Scheuren, starting at 11:11 AM
Scheuren is a district of the town of Unkel in the southern part of the Neuwied district, directly on the right bank of the Rhine opposite the Drachenfels. Unkel is known as a cultural and commuter town where Adenauer, Brandt, and numerous artists have left their mark. The smaller district of Scheuren maintains its own village identity.
The special feature of the Scheuren Rosenmontag parade is its early start at 11:11 AM. This makes Scheuren one of the first parades on Rosenmontag in the entire region – attracting a specific audience: families with children who want to do something else after the morning parade, as well as carnival fans who attend multiple parades on the day.
The parade remains manageable – corresponding to the size of Scheuren – and emphasizes its village, family-friendly character. Local carnival groups, clubs, families, and children design walking groups and small floats. Residents line the streets and celebrate along. Candy is traditionally thrown to the audience.
Those who want to experience several parades in the southern Neuwied district on Rosenmontag can start the day in Scheuren at 11:11 AM and then switch to the parades in Bruchhausen (3:11 PM), Linz am Rhein (2:11 PM), or Neuwied.
The route and assembly point will be published by the organizer in February 2026. The morning timing particularly appeals to families with children and carnival tourists who wish to attend other parades later in the day.
The exact program for 2026 will be published by the organizer in February 2026. The structure follows the proven key points of previous years:
