Classic rock concert on the eve of May 1st in the Schlosspark Halle
April 30th is traditionally Walpurgis Night in German-speaking countries — the eve of May Day, the transition from April to May. Many places celebrate with a 'dance into May', maypole raising, or spring festivals. The Schlosspark Halle in Geislautern has its own version: instead of classical or folk music, handmade rock has been celebrated here for years.
'Ready to Rumble' are a fixture in the Saarland rock and blues scene. With over 30 years of stage experience, they confidently cover the classics of rock history — from AC/DC and Deep Purple to Whitesnake and Bryan Adams, and even modern rock acts. Energetic performances, handmade music, no playback — exactly what rock fans in the region appreciate.
The second band of the evening, 'Century Fox' from Dudweiler, brings a slightly different flavor: party rock with a long tradition (since 1987!), including surprise elements during their performances. Classics from several decades are combined in their set — a colorful mix of 50s, 60s, 70s, and newer rock hits, getting the audience singing and dancing along.
The Schlosspark Halle in Geislautern is one of the most important event venues in the Völklingen district. Located on the edge of the castle park — the traditional green area around the former castle — the hall offers space for several hundred guests and is operated by Schloss-Kultur Geislautern e.V. The association offers a wide range of events throughout the year in the district — from concerts and theater to carnival and club festivals.
Geislautern is a district of Völklingen in the Saarbrücken regional association. Known primarily for its castle park with the remains of the former noble seat and the annual Kirmes (fair) in the park, Geislautern is also well-positioned musically — thanks to Schloss-Kultur e.V. and dedicated club structures.
Two bands, one evening, one clear program: handmade rock from bands that have mastered their craft for decades. Ready to Rumble and Century Fox share the evening, creating a varied setting — from classic rock and blues to party rock.
