The Rerik Festival of Lights on the Haff is the maritime season finale of the Baltic Sea resort of Rerik and is considered the autumn highlight of the event year. As dusk falls over the Salzhaff, countless floating candles illuminate the water, sailboats pass by in a festive parade, and a bonfire burns on the Haff promenade. The Rerik Heulbojen sing their shanties, the folk-rock band Bad Penny performs, and fireworks conclude the evening. During the day, a children's program invites visitors – a atmospheric festival on the Salzhaff with free admission.

The Rerik Festival of Lights on the Haff will take place on September 4th and 5th, 2026. On Friday, the "pre-lighting" starting at 6 PM will set the mood for the festival, followed by the Festival of Lights on Saturday from 2:30 PM to 2:00 AM at the Haff promenade: floating candles on the Salzhaff, a boat parade, bonfire, shanty songs by the Heulbojen, folk rock by Bad Penny, and fireworks.

On September 4th and 5th, 2026, Rerik will bid farewell to the summer season with its Festival of Lights on the Haff. The "pre-lighting" on Friday evening starting at 6 PM will set the mood for the main evening.

Saturday will feature the main program from 2:30 PM to 2:00 AM on the Haff promenade: a children's program in the afternoon, and in the evening, the actual Festival of Lights with floating candles on the Salzhaff, a festive parade of sailboats, a bonfire, shanty songs by the Reriker Heulbojen, and folk rock by Bad Penny. Fireworks will conclude the evening.

Getting There

By car via the A20 (exit Neubukow), then to Rerik. The festival takes place on the Haff promenade. By train to Neubukow, then continue by bus.
