Rock in the Concert Hall of a Baroque Castle

The Rentner.Rock.Festival is one of the most distinctive concert series at the Bavarian Music Academy Schloss Alteglofsheim. Three bands perform one after another in the castle's baroque concert hall on a single evening, playing classics of rock history: oldies, world hits, and defining songs from the 60s, 70s, and 80s – as cover versions or in their own arrangements, accompanied by a palpable passion on stage.

Generations and Their Music

The name playfully alludes to the generation that grew up with this music – the concert consciously caters to everyone who has reached or is approaching retirement age, without limiting the audience. In fact, the audience is cross-generational; the venue – a classic baroque concert hall – stands in exciting contrast to the rock music on stage.

Schloss Alteglofsheim and the Music Academy

Schloss Alteglofsheim is a baroque castle in the transitional area between Lower Bavaria and Upper Palatinate, in the district of Regensburg. For decades, it has housed the Bavarian Music Academy Schloss Alteglofsheim, a further education and academy institution for amateur and semi-professional musicians from all over Bavaria. The concert hall is the central venue and at the same time the stage for the Rentner.Rock.Festival, which has established itself over the years as one of the academy's most distinctive series.
