"Listen up – this is what the region sounds like"

The Regional Music Festival Braunschweig is an open, participatory major event for the music scene of the entire region of Braunschweig–Gifhorn–Goslar–Harz–Helmstedt–Peine–Salzgitter–Wolfenbüttel–Wolfsburg. It is aimed at both professionals and amateurs and showcases music in its full breadth – from children's choirs to symphony orchestras, from school hip-hop workshops to experimental sound installations.

Concept and Idea

The event aims to demonstrate the diversity of the region's musical scene. The focus is on concerts, music education projects, workshops, and interactive formats, complemented by information booths from regional music schools, associations, initiatives, and universities. Admission is generally free, and active participation is explicitly encouraged.

Children's Choir Competition

A permanent feature is the Children's Choir Competition for 6- to 10-year-olds. Schools, church communities, and independent choirs can participate; their performance will be judged by a professional jury and the audience.

Sound in Many Places

Squares, churches, foyers, and public spaces in Braunschweig's city center, as well as additional locations in the region, will be used as venues. This creates "musical islands" spread throughout the day, allowing visitors to stroll between them.
