8th Regional Music Festival Braunschweig

8th Edition on September 12, 2026

The 8th edition of the Regional Music Festival will take place on Saturday, September 12, 2026. Various locations in Braunschweig's city center, as well as additional venues in the region, will be used throughout the day.

Several thousand participating musicians and an even larger audience are expected. The event is organized by the supporting association in cooperation with music schools, choirs, orchestras, and schools in the region.

Program Structure 2026

The exact program for 2026 will be published in the summer. The structure follows the proven key points of previous years:

• Opening in the morning with a grand opening concert
• Parallel concerts on several open-air and indoor stages in the city center
• Participation of school choirs, big bands, symphony orchestras, brass bands, and pop/jazz ensembles
• Children's choir competition for 6- to 10-year-olds with a professional jury
• Participatory music education workshops for children and adults
• Sound installations in public spaces
• Information mile with music schools, associations, universities, and initiatives from the region
• Evening finale with a grand joint concert

Various locations in Braunschweig and the region (city center, churches, squares, foyers).

Getting There

By public transport (bus/tram) to the city center; individual venues are reachable on foot.

Admission and Registration

Admission is free for most events. Participation as an ensemble or in the children's choir competition requires registration via the organizer's website. The registration deadline for 2026 has been extended to April 12, 2026.
