Large autumn flea market with around 500 stalls along the Koblenz Rhine gardens
The Koblenz Autumn Flea Market is the autumn counterpart to the major spring event. With around 500 stalls, it is even slightly larger than the spring edition, making it one of the most extensive open-air flea markets in Rhineland-Palatinate. The organizer is the City of Koblenz, which opens up the Rhine gardens and the park behind the Deutsches Eck for the market twice a year.
The stalls line up along several hundred meters of the Rhine promenade. The spectrum ranges from private individuals offering cellar treasures to hobby traders with collector's items to professional dealers with a larger assortment. Those with patience and observant eyes will find bargains of all kinds here.
What makes the Koblenz Flea Market unique is its location in the Rhine gardens with views of the Deutsches Eck, Ehrenbreitstein Fortress, and the cable car. Even visitors who don't buy come for the atmosphere: a walk in the autumn light, a bratwurst at a snack stand, a coffee on the Rhine – and perhaps an unexpected find on the way home.
The range of goods is similar to the spring market: vintage fashion, furniture, home accessories, jewelry, books, records, toys, dishes, kitchen utensils, and unique curiosities. In autumn, winter clothing, Christmas decorations, and Advent calendars are more frequently offered – some visitors specifically use the market to prepare for the winter season.
Some stalls are run by associations and initiatives, with proceeds benefiting social or cultural projects. Thus, the market has an important solidarity function for the Koblenz community, in addition to the bargain-hunting aspect.
