Tip
A small, authentic Kerb far from the hustle and bustle of mass tourism – ideal for a quiet suburban atmosphere. Those who want to extend the experience can combine the Kerb visit with a hike in the Taunus.
A Small Suburban Kerb on the Edge of the Taunus
The Rambacher Kerb is one of Wiesbaden's smaller, but charming, suburban Kerben. Rambach is a northeastern district of Hesse's state capital, located at the transition from the city center to the Taunus heights. Its location on the edge of the Taunus gives the place a quiet, almost rural character – even though it administratively belongs to Wiesbaden.
Two Festival Days in Early September
Unlike most other Wiesbaden Kerben with four or more days of festivities, the Rambacher Kerb 2026 runs for only two days: Saturday, September 5 and Monday, September 7. This format – leaving Sunday as a day of rest – is a special feature that distinguishes the festival from larger Kerben.
Classic Kerb Program
Saturday is the main festival day with live music in the festival tent, communal catering by local clubs, and a family-friendly program. Monday is the Frühschoppen (morning pint) day, traditionally a time for the older residents of the district to have breakfast and chat together. The format reflects the small size of the place – Rambach has only about 2,000 inhabitants.
Hessian Kerb Tradition on a Small Scale
The Kerb tradition dates back centuries in southwestern Hesse and was originally the patronal festival of the local church. Even in such a small district as Rambach, this custom is maintained with local pride – the Rambacher Kerbegesellschaft (Rambach Kerb Society) organizes the festival independently.
Wiesbaden-Rambach on the Edge of the Taunus
Rambach borders directly on the Hoher Taunus and offers a good starting point for hikes towards Hohe Wurzel, Platte, and the main ridge of the Taunus. The Kerb is therefore also attractive for hikers and day-trippers: a Taunus tour in the morning, the Kerb in the afternoon.
