Village of Queichheim

Queichheim is one of the Landau city villages in the east of the city, named after the river Queich that flows through the village. The Quächemer Kerwe has been part of the festival calendar for generations and is organized jointly by local associations and the city.

Opening with City Leadership and Wine Princess

On Friday at 5 PM, Mayor Dominik Geißler, local head Adrian Koder-Horsten, and the reigning Wine Princess Emma I. will open the Kerwe on the Kerweplatz. Tapping of the keg, welcoming remarks, and a first glass of wine mark the official start.

Biker Meeting on Saturday

A special feature of the Queichheimer Kerwe is the traditional biker meeting on Saturday at 11 AM. Bikers from the region meet on the Kerweplatz, present their bikes, and join the festive weekend. The biker meeting gives the Kerwe its own character and distinguishes it from purely wine-focused village festivals.

Live Music on Saturday

From 3 PM on Saturday, Jonny Rieger – singer-songwriter and dialect singer from the Palatinate – will perform on the Kerweplatz. From 8 PM, the band Friends will take the stage, providing cover versions and dance music for the main party night of the Kerwe.

Sunday: Service and Children's Program

Sunday begins at 10 AM with an ecumenical service on the Kerweplatz, where the Protestant and Catholic congregations celebrate together under the open sky. Afterwards, the family program takes center stage: bouncy castles, face painting, games, and child-friendly food.
