On July 11, 2026, the Fleesensee castle park in Göhren-Lebbin will transform into an open-air stage for the SWR Big Band and three international singers: Onita Boone, Kennedy (both from New York), and Ida Sand (Sweden). Under Guido Jöris, the classics of soul divas will be reinterpreted. Admission at 5:00 PM, concert start at 7:00 PM.

The concert is part of the SCHLOSS Konzert series and is presented in cooperation with the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. On stage, the SWR Big Band and three soul voices will perform "Queens of Soul" with classics by Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner, and Etta James, condensed into their own arrangements. When the SWR Big Band goes on tour, it often becomes a musical event: The Stuttgart-based ensemble is one of Europe's leading big bands and has been nominated for a Grammy multiple times. In the Fleesensee castle park, one of the most elegant venues in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, it will perform a program full of soul classics on Saturday, July 11, 2026.
