Latin American Music and Dance Festival for Ascension Day at the Concert Shell in Ludwigshafen's Ebertpark
Ascension Day in Germany is traditionally a day when many people head outdoors. Pure Latin Vibes taps into this desire for summer, sociability, and movement by filling Ebertpark with Latin American rhythms. Instead of classic Father's Day outings, the focus here is on dancing, listening, and enjoying together. Families with children, Latin dance couples, salsa beginners, and curious strollers form a multi-generational audience.
The musical program covers the entire spectrum of popular Latin music: Salsa in its Cuban and Puerto Rican variations, Bachata from the Dominican Republic, Reggaeton, Cumbia, and Latin Pop. DJs and, if applicable, live music provide a continuous soundscape that invites participation. Those who can't dance yet will quickly learn the most important basic steps – the open format is explicitly beginner-friendly.
The historic Concert Shell in Ebertpark provides the natural stage setting. The open stage, the surrounding lawn circle, and the shade-providing trees create an atmosphere typical of the Southern European-influenced summer culture of the Vorderpfalz region. The Turmrestaurant Ebertpark handles the culinary offerings with Caipirinhas, Mojitos, Latin-Inspired Food Specials, and non-alcoholic refreshments.
Pure Latin Vibes is part of the larger Orangerie Kultur im Ebertpark series, which brings together after-work concerts, Latin nights, chanson sessions, DJ sets, and culinary specials in Ebertpark between May and September. The event traditionally marks the kickoff to the park's warm-season cultural program.
