The Promenadenkonzerte am Theresienstein are a staple of the cultural summer in Hof, a city in Upper Franconia, Bavaria. The venue is the Theresienstein Park, the oldest public park in Bavaria, with its historic music pavilion.
Tradition Since 1989
The City of Hof has been organizing the Promenadenkonzerte since 1989. From May to September, an ensemble performs every Sunday from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM – as well as on public holidays – at the music pavilion. Admission is always free.
Musical Variety
The program includes classical music, vocal music, folk music, jazz, as well as brass and choral music. The season traditionally opens with the Zollkapelle Nürnberg, an ensemble of around 23 musicians with a repertoire ranging from Bavarian brass music to film score classics.
Summer Enjoyment in the Park
On Sundays and public holidays, a summer restaurant is open from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, offering regional Hof beer, coffee and cake, vegetarian dishes, and grilled items. The Promenadenkonzerte thus combine music, nature, and socialising, making it a popular Sunday outing for families and music lovers from Hof and the entire region.

From May 10 to September 6, 2026, the Promenadenkonzerte will be held every Sunday from 11 AM to 12 PM at the music pavilion in Theresienstein Park, Hof. Concerts will also take place on public holidays.
The season opens on May 10 with the Zollkapelle Nürnberg. The repertoire ranges from classical and vocal music to folk, jazz, brass, and choral music. The season finale on September 6 coincides with the 155th anniversary of the Hofer Wärschtlamo.
