Powerwolf — European Summer 2026 at Loreley

The Powerwolf European Summer 2026 at the Loreley Open-Air Stage is one of the most ambitious metal events of the Loreley summer 2026. Instead of a single concert, the event is staged as a one-day metal festival with four top-class acts — a remarkable concentration of power metal and metal innovation on a single evening.

Powerwolf, as headliners, are among the most successful and visually striking German-language metal bands of the present day. Founded in 2003 in Saarbrücken, the power metal formation around brothers Charles and Matthew Greywolf has built a loyal fan base with their concept of opulent power metal, religious and gothic-inspired lyrics, theatrical stage shows, and their distinctive logo with wolf motifs and liturgical symbols. With albums like “Preachers of the Night” (2013), “Blessed & Possessed” (2015), “The Sacrament of Sin” (2018), and “Wake Up the Wicked” (2024), they have achieved platinum status and played sold-out world tours.

As Special Guests, three other metal giants will take the stage: Apocalyptica, the Finnish cellists who have established a unique sound since the 1990s with classical cello interpretations of Metallica classics and their own symphonic metal works. Orden Ogan, German power metal veterans whose epic songs and melodic compositions have made them one of the most prominent bands in their subgenre. And Serenity, an Austrian symphonic metal band led by singer Georg Neuhauser, who have created their own musical world with their historically inspired concept albums.

The Loreley Open-Air Stage is an ideal venue for such a metal festival. With a capacity of around 12,000 seats, the multi-tiered rock stage, and the unique atmosphere on the plateau above the Rhine, it offers the perfect setting for a long festival with multiple acts and elaborate stage shows. The Loreley has hosted numerous metal events in the past and is considered Germany's most atmospheric open-air stage in the scene.
