About PCC 60th Anniversary

The Pottumer Carnevals Club is celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2026. This special jubilee will be honored with an extensive festival weekend in the large festival tent at Wiesensee. For three days, the Westerwald community of Pottum, idyllically situated on the Wiesensee in the Westerburg administrative district, will transform into a stronghold of festive joy.

In 2026, the anniversary festival will run from Friday, May 8th to Sunday, May 10th. The Kölscher Abend (Cologne evening) kicks things off on Friday, the grand festival parade is scheduled for Saturday, and Sunday will feature a festive conclusion. Sixty Years of Pottum Carnival

The Pottumer Carnevals Club was founded in 1966 and in 2026 looks back on six decades of carnival tradition. During this time, the club has shaped the carnival culture of the Westerwald community of Pottum, organized countless events, built floats for parades, trained dance groups, and inspired generations of Pottum residents for Fastnacht (Carnival).

Pottum on the Wiesensee

The municipality of Pottum is picturesquely located on the Wiesensee, one of the most popular local recreation areas in the Westerwald. With just under 600 inhabitants, Pottum is manageable – and precisely for this reason, club life is particularly intense. The Carnival Club is one of the defining institutions of the village.

Festival Tent at Wiesensee

A large, heated festival tent will be erected directly on the Wiesensee for the anniversary celebration. The location by the lake makes the venue a special experience: during the day, the shore invites you for a walk, and in the evening, the tent offers a sheltered setting for the festivities.

Three Days of Program

On Friday evening, May 8th, the Kölscher Abend opens the anniversary – Cologne-style hits, carnival classics, and cold beer ensure the right start. On Saturday, May 9th, the grand festival parade winds through Pottum and ends at the festival tent, where the program continues inside. On Sunday, May 10th, the anniversary concludes with a convivial Frühschoppen (morning pint) and a family program.

Carina Stickel at the Helm

The organization of the anniversary festival is in the hands of Carina Stickel and her team. She leads the Pottumer Carnevals Club with great dedication, combining long-standing tradition with contemporary accents.
