Antiques and arts and crafts in the heart of Potsdam — the spring edition
Twice a year, the quarter around Jägerstraße and Gutenbergstraße in Potsdam transforms into an open antiques mile. The spring edition 2026 opens on Saturday, May 30 and Sunday, May 31, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM each day. Stroll through two of the most charming shopping streets in the city center, right next to the Dutch Quarter and just a few steps from the Brandenburg Gate and Luisenplatz.
The spring edition brings together about 80 antique dealers, craftspeople, and artists from all over Germany. The offerings are deliberately broad: you'll find antique furniture from the Biedermeier, Art Nouveau, and Art Deco periods, historical porcelain from the major manufacturers like Meißen, KPM, and Rosenthal, as well as silver cutlery, jewelry, old maps, first editions and prints, collectibles like coins and stamps, paintings, and graphics. On the arts and crafts side, ceramicists, glassblowers, woodturners, goldsmiths, and textile artists present their latest works.
Potsdam is the state capital of Brandenburg and borders Berlin to the southwest. The unique concentration of palaces and parks — Sanssouci, Cecilienhof, Babelsberg, Neuer Garten — has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1990. The Antikmeile uses this atmosphere as a perfect backdrop: collectors and antique lovers from Berlin, Saxony-Anhalt, and all of Brandenburg often combine their market visit with a stroll through the Dutch Quarter or an afternoon in Sanssouci Park. Local shops and restaurants along the market mile participate with extended opening hours and special promotions.
The spring edition is considered by collectors to be the slightly larger of the two Antikmeilen — many dealers bring fresh goods from winter clear-outs. Those who arrive early have a greater selection; from 4:00 PM onwards, many exhibitors begin offering small discounts to avoid the hassle of carrying items back.
On Saturday, May 30, and Sunday, May 31, 2026, from 11 AM to 6 PM each day, the Potsdam city center around Jägerstraße and Gutenbergstraße will transform into an open antiques mile. Around 80 dealers from all over Germany will present antique, handcrafted, and artistically designed treasures.
Local shops and restaurants will participate with special promotions and extended opening hours. Admission to the market mile is free.
