Summer Sundays in the Spa Park

The Picknick-Konzerte are the summery Sunday ritual of Bad Neustadt an der Saale, the Lower Franconian district town in the Rhön-Grabfeld district (Bavaria). The venue is the Kurpark with its historic pavilion, which has been the stage for the open-air concert series for years. The organizer is the Tourismus und Stadtmarketing Bad Neustadt GmbH.

The Concept

The idea is refreshingly simple and precisely why it has been successful for years: On Sunday afternoons, bands of all genres – from rock and swing to pop and funk, to singer-songwriters and jazz – play in front of the spa park pavilion. The audience brings picnic blankets and picnic baskets, settles down on the lawn, chats, listens, and dances in front of the stage. Admission is free.

Program 2026

The 2026 edition runs from July 5 to August 30, 2026. On selected Sundays during this period, the spa park opens its stage for the Picknick-Konzerte. Concerts traditionally start in the afternoon (usually 3:30 PM). The individual bands and dates will be published by the city marketing department in the weeks before the season.

Bad Neustadt and its Spa Park Tradition

Bad Neustadt is a state-recognized spa town with a focus on cardiac and circulatory medicine (Campus Bad Neustadt of the Rhön-Klinikum AG). The Kurpark is not only a cultural arena but also a public city space for walkers, families, and spa guests. The Picknick-Konzerte connect the tourist and local populations – they are a typical Bad Neustadt summer ritual with a low entry barrier (in fact, none at all) and a summery, relaxed atmosphere.

Free Admission – But Weather Dependent
