Summery Musical Enjoyment Among 50,000 Roses

With around 50,000 rose bushes of more than 2,000 varieties, the Zweibrücken Rosengarten is one of the largest and most diverse rose gardens in Europe. Every summer, the expansive garden grounds transform into a fragrant stage for the popular Picknick im Park event series. On four Sundays between late May and mid-September, the organizers invite you to enjoy free music under the open sky. Visitors bring their own blankets, picnic baskets, and drinks, making themselves comfortable on the large lawns. A relaxed morning and early afternoon with live music in the green is guaranteed.

Diverse Musical Program 2026

The 2026 season kicks off on Sunday, May 31st, with the duo Lotti & Jake, who present a charming mix of country, Western, rock'n'roll, and oldies. On Sunday, July 5th, the Jing & Jang band takes the microphone, providing upbeat summer sounds. On Sunday, August 2nd, the Eichelhäher will perform their unique repertoire, before the trio Finale XL concludes the season with a festive concert on Sunday, September 13th. Each concert begins at 11 AM and lasts about two to three hours, depending on the weather.

Family-Friendly Format with a Long Tradition

Over the years, Picknick im Park has become a popular family event. Parents bring their children, grandparents their grandchildren, and spontaneous picnic groups form on the spacious lawns. Free admission and the casual atmosphere make the series an accessible cultural offering that appeals to all generations. Those who don't wish to bring their own picnic basket can utilize the Rosengarten's catering services, operated by the Rosenstube at the entrance.

A Blooming Summer Experience

Especially in June and July, when the roses are in full bloom, the Rosengarten unfolds its full magic. The diversity of varieties, from historic English roses to bed roses and robust shrub roses, creates a true spectacle of color and fragrance. Amidst this sensory backdrop, the music of the picnic Sundays is particularly impressive. The themed areas, such as the Japanese garden, the herb garden, and the Mediterranean area, also invite strolls before and after the concerts. The 2026 summer program is further enhanced by a cocktail dance party on July 4th at 4 PM.
