Whit Sunday with Piesport vintners at the wine fountain on the Moselle
The Pentecost weekend traditionally marks the start of the wine festival season on the Moselle. While entire villages from Kesten to Zeltingen open their cellars, Piesport focuses on a concentrated format: one day, one location, many wines. The wine fountain in the middle of the village becomes a meeting point for locals, day-trippers, and Moselle holidaymakers who spend the Pentecost days along the steep slopes.
Piesport is one of the most famous wine villages on the Middle Moselle. The top vineyard site Piesporter Goldtröpfchen produces internationally renowned Rieslings from slate soils, and the Domherr site complements the offering. Several Piesport vintners are usually present at the wine fountain with a selection of their current wines – from dry Riesling Kabinett to lively sparkling wine base wine, and at some wineries, also white and Pinot Noir.
The local clubs complement the wine service with Mosellan cuisine – bratwurst, tarte flambée, cheese specialties, Spundekäs. The atmosphere is familial: those looking for a big spectacle can drive a few kilometers down the Moselle to Mythos Mosel, while those who want to enjoy Pentecost peacefully on the Moselle will find their place at the Piesport Wine Fountain.
The exact program for 2026 will be published by the organizer in the spring. The structure follows the proven cornerstones of previous years: wine service at the wine fountain throughout Whit Sunday with several Piesport vintners and club stands.

The event can be easily combined with other Moselle Pentecost wine festivals, such as Mythos Mosel or the Open Wine Cellar Days in Graach and Mülheim.
Piesport is located on the B53 between Bernkastel-Kues and Trier. Parking on the outskirts of the village. Neumagen-Dhron train station nearby, short bus or taxi transfer.
Free admission. Wines are served for a fee at the vintners' stands, glass deposit required on site.
The event takes place on Whit Sunday. On the surrounding days, other Pentecost wine festivals are running concurrently on the Middle Moselle (Mythos Mosel, Open Wine Cellar Days Graach and Mülheim), making a combination easily feasible.
