About parkrun Allerpark
parkrun Allerpark Wolfsburg is a free, weekly 5km run that starts every Saturday at 9 am in the Allerpark. The event is part of the global parkrun network and is organised locally by volunteers. Pre-registration with a barcode is recommended, but it is free and only needs to be done once.
The course covers approximately 5 kilometres around the Allersee lake — on gravel and asphalt paths, with minimal elevation gain. It is suitable for beginners as well as ambitious runners. Afterwards, the team invites participants for a coffee get-together — a typical parkrun tradition worldwide.

parkrun — A Global Movement
parkrun is an initiative founded in Great Britain in 2004, which now organises weekly, free 5km runs in over twenty countries worldwide. The concept is the same everywhere: Saturday morning, free entry, volunteer organisation, one-time online registration with a barcode, timing, and publication of results via the parkrun website. The atmosphere is accessible, welcoming, and not competition-oriented.
The Allersee Course
The Allerpark with its Allersee lake offers an ideal parkrun course: 5 kilometres around the lake, a mixed surface of gravel and asphalt paths, flat, well-signposted, and safe. The course is also suitable for walkers, joggers with prams, and dogs on a lead.
How to Participate
- Register once at parkrun.com.de.
- Print your barcode or access it on your smartphone.
- Be at the meeting point in the Allerpark on Saturday at 9 am.
- Run, walk, or volunteer — no pressure to register, no pre-registration for each run.
- After crossing the finish line, your barcode will be scanned; your time will appear later in the online results list.
Volunteer Team
The run is organised by a team of volunteers from Wolfsburg. Roles range from course marshals to timekeepers and barcode scanners, to welcoming new participants. Anyone wishing to help can get in touch via the website.
Post-Run Coffee
After the run, the team meets with participants for coffee in a nearby café — an important social component of the parkrun concept.
