Atmospheric wine festival in the Schlosspark Schloß Neuhaus — Winemakers from Germany in the Marstall courtyard
From August 21st to 23rd, 2026, the Marstall in Schlosspark Schloß Neuhaus will transform into a courtyard full of wine, enjoyment, and summer atmosphere. The Paderborner Weindorf brings winemakers from all over Germany to the historic Marstall inner courtyard — an exceptionally atmospheric setting for a wine festival that is one of the established summer highlights in Paderborn's event calendar.
The Marstall is the historic stable complex of Schloss Neuhaus, the favorite residence castle of Paderborn's prince-bishops during the Renaissance. The inner courtyard — surrounded by historic architecture — is decorated with fairy lights and festive lighting in the summer and is perfect for an atmospheric wine festival: not a large tent event, but a deliberately stylish setting where the wines, gastronomy, and architecture work together.
The organizer is Schlosspark und Lippesee Gesellschaft mbH with the support of local businesses. The Weindorf is part of the SchlossSommer 2026 — the event series that enlivens Schlosspark Schloß Neuhaus from spring to late summer with cultural and culinary formats.
Schloss Neuhaus is one of the most important Renaissance castles in North Rhine-Westphalia. Built from the late 14th century as the favorite residence of the Paderborn prince-bishops, expanded several times, and converted into a four-wing Renaissance complex in the 16th/17th centuries. Today, the castle houses, among other things, a municipal grammar school and the Natural History Museum. The extensive castle park is a local recreation area for Paderborn.
The city of Paderborn, with around 150,000 inhabitants, is the capital of the Paderborn district in Ostwestfalen-Lippe. Famous for its Carolingian-Romanesque Cathedral, the Relics of Saint Liborius, the Heinz Nixdorf MuseumsForum (the largest computer museum in the world), and the Pader — Germany's shortest river, which flows into the Lippe after only 4 km. Paderborn is a university city and one of the most dynamic economic regions in Ostwestfalen.
