Sports festival with memorial character
The Otto-Kühn-Fest is a firm fixture in the event calendar of the municipality of Prohn, which belongs to the Amt Altenpleen in the Vorpommern-Rügen district. It is organized by SV Prohner Wiek e.V., the local sports club founded in 1952. The festival is named after Otto Kühn and is held as a memorial tournament – a sporting tribute that also keeps club history alive.
From youth to amateur teams
The focus is on an amateur football tournament on the "An der Prohner Wiek" sports field. The day is divided into two parts: in the morning, the youth teams play their tournament rounds, and in the afternoon, the adult amateur teams take over the pitch. Thus, the Otto-Kühn-Fest involves both generations of the club and turns the competition into a communal event.

Around the games, the atmosphere of a classic village summer festival develops: catering, a supporting program, and social gatherings accompany the tournament. Prohn and SV Prohner Wiek
Prohn is located north of Stralsund near Prohner Wiek, a bay of the Strelasund. With its sports departments, SV Prohner Wiek shapes the village's club life. The tournament named after Otto Kühn is one of the highlights of the club year and is part of Prohn's rich event calendar, which ranges from village festivals and Advent singing to Christmas markets.

29th Otto-Kühn-Fest 2026
For 2026, the Otto-Kühn-Fest – the 29th edition – is scheduled for Saturday, July 4. The venue is again the "An der Prohner Wiek" sports field in Prohn.
The schedule follows the proven format of the memorial tournament: in the morning, the youth teams play their games, and from 2:00 PM, the adult amateur teams take over. Catering and a convivial supporting program turn the tournament day into a summer festival for the entire community.
