Storkow Castle — Medieval Moated Castle in the Oder-Spree District
Storkow Castle is a moated castle built in the 13th century in the south of the present-day town of Storkow (Mark) in the Oder-Spree district, about 60 km southeast of Berlin. The striking keep complex is now managed by the nature park administration and houses a permanent exhibition on the history of the March of Brandenburg. With its inner and outer courtyards, it offers an ideal backdrop for large medieval events — and has been the venue for the Osterspectaculum for almost three decades.
28th Edition 2026
The event is organized by the group Carnica Spectaculi, which has established the Osterspectaculum as one of the oldest medieval Easter festivals in Brandenburg. The 28th edition runs from Saturday, April 4th to Monday, April 6th, 2026:
- Saturday and Sunday: 10 AM–8 PM.
- Monday (Easter Monday): 10 AM–7 PM.
The Medieval Troops
Three permanent troupes shape the 2026 program:
- Mandschur Tengri — an equestrian group performing two tournaments daily (approx. 12:45 PM and 4 PM): mystical rider demonstrations, horseback archery, jousting, and show fights on horseback.
- Flugträumer — jugglers and acrobats who entertain between the market stalls with high-wire and balancing acts.
- The Sandsacks — a medieval music group with bagpipes, shawms, and drums; they perform on the courtyard in several sets per day.
- Hochkant — mystical stilt walkers and an evening fire spectacle.
Program Structure
Each of the three days features around 10 spectacles — including two equestrian tournaments (12:45 PM and 4 PM), foot knight combat, minstrel concerts, and a grand tavern spectacle in the evening with mead, medieval cuisine, and musical accompaniment. Knight camps with tents are set up across the grounds — visitors can watch the blacksmith, bowyer, and armourer at work.
Prices and Family Concept
The admission scale is deliberately family-friendly (online advance booking):
- Adults: €13.
- Students and people in costume: €9.
- Children aged 6-16: €6.
- Children under 6: free.
- Knights in full armour: free (an old tradition of the Osterspectaculum).
