The Easter Monday Market Creglingen is a traditional spring market that takes place annually on Easter Monday in the town centre of Creglingen — on Monday, April 6, 2026. The market coincides with the second public holiday of Easter in Baden-Württemberg, giving the whole region a long-weekend feel: Families and day-trippers from the Taubertal and Rhön regions come to Creglingen to combine the market with a spring family outing.

Market Stalls, Carousel, and Stagecoaches

The market is characterised by a charming mix of traditional and modern elements. Numerous market stalls offer crafts, regional products, plants, spring decorations, sweets, and snack specialties. A children's carousel provides entertainment for the youngest visitors. The shops on the main street are open for business — linking the market with local retail. A special feature: historic stagecoach rides departing from Creglingen's historic post house — a rare opportunity to ride through the old town in a real horse-drawn carriage.

Creglingen — Historic Town in the Romantic Tauber Valley

Creglingen (Main-Tauber district, district 08128, around 4,600 inhabitants) is located in the southern Tauber Valley, on the border between Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria. The small town is nationally known for the Herrgottskirche — a late Gothic chapel with the famous Altarpiece of the Virgin Mary by Tilman Riemenschneider (around 1505), one of the most important works of South German late Gothic art. The historic townscape with half-timbered houses and narrow alleys makes Creglingen a popular stop on the Romantic Road.

Tradition Since 2012

The Easter Monday Market has been organised since 2012 by the Easter Monday Market Creglingen Interest Group under the leadership of Karl Haag. Over more than a decade, the event has become a firm fixture in Creglingen's event calendar — and one of the most important spring events for excursions into the southern Tauber Valley.
