Spring market with fabric market, arts and crafts, and Sunday shopping in Wiesbaden city centre
When the glass display cases of Wilhelmstraße are once again filled with spring decorations, the Easter Market takes place in Wiesbaden's city centre. For three days, the pedestrian zone transforms into an open market: around 70 stalls line the route from Rheinstraße via Mauritiusplatz to Michelsberg. The organiser is Wiesbaden Congress & Marketing GmbH, which also organises the Sternschnuppenmarkt (Starlight Market) in Advent.
The offerings range from arts and crafts – jewellery, woodwork, leather goods, ceramics, decorations – to gastronomic stalls. Three wine stalls present regional wines from the Rheingau, alongside a wide selection of food, from bratwurst to sweet crêpes. Regional musicians perform on the stage at Mauritiusplatz on all three days.
The hallmark and highlight on Sunday: the fabric market at Dern'sches Gelände. On the square between the Theaterkolonnaden and Burgstraße, over 100 stalls offer fabrics, yarns, ribbons, buttons, wool, patchwork materials, and patterns. The fabric market attracts hobby sewers from across the Rhine-Main region and runs on Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm.
Sunday is Sunday shopping in Wiesbaden's city centre from 1 pm to 6 pm. This is accompanied by a touristically and mobility-friendly programme: free public transport in Wiesbaden on Sunday (ESWE Verkehr), €1 parking fee in municipal car parks (1 pm–6 pm), free bicycle parking with a service station. This positions the Wiesbaden Easter Market as a large-scale spring weekend for the entire region.
Mauritiusplatz becomes a play zone for children: a nostalgic carousel, face painting, craft workshops, and walking acts (fairy tale characters, rabbits) entertain visitors in the area. Ideal for families combining the market weekend with a city trip.
The 2026 edition combines two market formats: the classic Easter market with arts and crafts and gastronomy over three days, and on Sunday, the large fabric market at Dern'sches Gelände. Sunday shopping and free public transport also make the weekend a day-trip format for the Rhine-Main region.
