Hoppegarten – The cradle of German horse racing

The Hoppegarten Racecourse was opened on May 17, 1868, by King Wilhelm I and Chancellor Otto von Bismarck, and has since become one of Germany's most significant horse racing venues. Located in the Märkisch-Oderland district, just east of the Berlin city limits, it is easily accessible from Berlin via the S5 S-Bahn line.

Renntag der Wirtschaft: World Championship racing and family fun

The Renntag der Wirtschaft on September 19, 2026, is a highlight of the 2026 season. The centerpiece is the qualifying race for the FEGENTRI World Championship for Lady Riders, where the top female jockeys from FEGENTRI member countries compete for victory.

A program for the whole family

Beyond the races, a large family festival awaits: face painting, bouncy castles, pony rides, and children's betting. The Kids' Grand Prix invites children to race on hobby horses—bring your own, craft one on-site, or purchase one at the info stand. At the craft station, kids can make wooden horseshoes, horse heads, and jockey goggles, while the Hoppegarten photo point lets visitors step into the role of a jockey. On the visitor lawn, Range Rover presented by BritCars will showcase their latest models, with musical entertainment provided by the Bigband Köpenick.

The venue offers classic favorites like currywurst, burgers, and fries, alongside international and vegetarian specialties, plus donuts, waffles, pastries, and ice cream.
