Hoppegarten – the cradle of German horse racing

The Hoppegarten Racecourse opened in 1868 and has been considered Germany's most important horse racing venue ever since. With 11 race days per season, a racing distance of 2,400 meters, and a main track of international standard, it regularly attracts the best horses, trainers, and jockeys from Europe. Hoppegarten is located in the Märkisch-Oderland district, directly east of the Berlin city limits.

Renntag der Wirtschaft

The Renntag der Wirtschaft on September 19, 2026, is one of seven race days in the 2026 season. It combines classic horse racing with a business format: Companies from Berlin and Brandenburg rent boxes and tables, entertain clients and business partners, and use the race day as a networking platform.

Schedule

Admission is at 1:00 PM. Until the first race at 2:30 PM, there is time for a champagne reception, buffet, and mingling in the paddock area. The race day typically includes seven to eight horse races over distances from 1,200 to 2,400 meters, with breaks between races for continued business discussions.

Architectural Highlight

The historic grandstand and the paddock are listed buildings. Horse racing enthusiasts know Hoppegarten as one of the few venues where the atmosphere of an English racecourse can be found on Brandenburg soil. The Hoppegarten style – elegant, traditional, yet accessible – also shapes the format on the Renntag der Wirtschaft.
