Spring Opening for Aurich's Volksfeste
The Ostermarkt Aurich marks the start of the city's full Volksfest year. Around 80 exhibitors set up a complete fairground on the spacious Sparkassen-Arena parking lot. With this scale, the Ostermarkt is one of the most significant spring fairs in East Frisia.
Rides and Attractions
The offerings cover all fairground classics: Ferris wheel as a visual landmark, bumper cars for the middle generation, roller coaster or high-thrill ride for adrenaline seekers, swing carousels, boat swings, Break-Dancer, and children's carousels for the little ones. Game stalls, shooting galleries, ring toss, and duck fishing complement the offerings.
Gastronomy
Classic fairground food dominates: bratwurst, potato pancakes, fries, East Frisian specialties, crêpes, almonds, gingerbread hearts, cotton candy, and candy apples. Beer, mulled wine, and drink stands cater to adult visitors.
Fireworks and Family Day
For the opening on Good Friday, fireworks will light up the fairgrounds in the evening – a typical highlight that attracts visitors from all over the Aurich district. On the last day (Tuesday), it's Family Day with reduced prices on rides and candy stalls.
