23rd Spring and Easter Market in the Oedekoven Town Hall — Arts and Crafts and Springtime Cheer
The Ostermarkt Alfter will open its doors for the 23rd time in 2026 — on Sunday, March 22, 2026, from 11 am to 6 pm, at the Oedekoven Town Hall. On two levels and the forecourt, more than 40 exhibitors will present their works. The organizer is Kulturkreis Alfter e.V., which traditionally promotes performing and visual arts in the municipality of Alfter.
The market is explicitly not a flea market, but a curated arts and crafts market with spring and Easter themes. Typical offerings include:
A cafeteria with cake, coffee, and soups provides refreshments — typically run by the Kulturkreis itself, so that the proceeds directly benefit the association's work.
Admission is free. The Ostermarkt is explicitly intended for families: accessible for prams via the town hall, ample space for strollers, a calm atmosphere even during peak times. Entrance via Oedekoven Town Hall Square.
Alfter is located on the eastern edge of the Voreifel region, directly adjacent to Bonn, in the Rhein-Sieg district of North Rhine-Westphalia. The municipality comprises the districts of Alfter, Oedekoven, Witterschlick, Volmershoven, Heidgen, Impekoven, and Gielsdorf — Oedekoven is the administrative seat. The Vorgebirge region with its fruit orchards and proximity to the Kottenforst makes the area the green lung of the Bonn region.
Kulturkreis Alfter e.V. has been the central cultural organizer in the municipality for over 40 years. In addition to the Ostermarkt, the association organizes readings, concerts, exhibitions, and discussion evenings. The proceeds from the market flow entirely back into cultural work — supporting local artists, acquiring works, subsidizing ticket prices for young visitors.
The Ostermarkt has developed into a firm fixture in the event calendar of the municipality of Alfter since the early 2000s. With around 1,500 to 2,000 visitors annually, it is one of the well-attended spring markets in the southern Rhein-Sieg district and the northern Voreifel region.
The 23rd edition continues the established market tradition: a curated arts and crafts market with a spring theme at the Oedekoven Town Hall. Over 40 exhibitors, curated by Kulturkreis Alfter, will present works with Easter motifs and spring character. The cafeteria in the town hall foyer offers coffee, cake, and soups; the proceeds go to the association's cultural work.
Note: The detailed floor plan and exhibitor list will be published on kulturkreis-alfter.de before the market date.
Free admission. Purchases and food are paid for directly at the stands.
By car: A565 exit Bonn-Hardtberg, then B56 to Alfter-Oedekoven. By public transport: SWB buses from Bonn Main Station, line 631 or 633 to Alfter-Oedekoven Rathaus. Parking available at the Town Hall forecourt and in surrounding streets.
Sunday, March 22, 2026, 11:00 AM – 6:00 PM. Free admission.
The cafeteria in the town hall offers homemade cakes and soups — a good place for a break during your market tour. Immediately afterwards, a walk to the neighboring Alfter Castle (now Alanus University of Arts and Society) or into the Vorgebirge is worthwhile.
