Beer Variety in the Shadow of the Peace Town Hall

The Osnabrück Beer Festival has established itself as a summer highlight since its inception. On the market square directly in front of the medieval town hall — the historic site of the Peace of Westphalia — an international beer enjoyment mile is created over three days, attracting connoisseurs, hobby drinkers, and curious city strollers alike.

The selection is deliberately international and broadly themed:

• Belgian Trappist beers from monastery breweries
• Bavarian wheat beers and Helles
• North German Pilsners from regional breweries
• Czech Pilsners from original breweries
• British Ales and Stouts
• Craft Beer from German and international microbreweries
• Seasonal specialties such as IPA, Sour Beer, Bock

Fresh from the Tap

Unlike bottled beer tastings, the beer festival offers the opportunity to try each beer fresh from the tap — poured directly from the breweries. Small tasting portions or full glasses, as desired.

Atmosphere and Program

The market square setting with the medieval town hall, St. Mary's Church, and the historic gabled houses lends the festival a special atmosphere. Standing tables, seating areas, and a small stage with background music complement the offerings. Food trucks and gastronomic stands provide culinary accompaniment — from bratwurst to vegetarian options and international snacks.

Free Admission

Admission to the market square is free. Beer and food are paid for individually. Usually, there is a festival glass system with a deposit.

Date 2026

The exact date for 2026 will be published by the organizer in spring 2026. Based on experience, the festival runs on an extended weekend at the end of June with Thursday evening opening, Friday and Saturday as the main festival days.
