About Open Air Schlosshof Friedberg
Open Air Schlosshof Friedberg — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of the open-air concert series presents four very different musical worlds in the courtyard of Wittelsbacher Castle. Kicking off on June 20th is a double concert from Augsburg and Vienna: Rubi with edgy rap and newcomer Luna Antonia.
On June 25th, Bavarian tradition meets electronic beats: Loamsiada play Urban Brass, Loisach Marci combines alphorn and techno into a distinctive sound. June 26th is dedicated to the classic tenor sounds of the Impulso Tenors with their show » PASSIONE TOTALE «. The finale on June 27th is by I Dolci Signori with Italian chansons – an evening that sold out particularly quickly during pre-sale.

Summer Music at Wittelsbacher Castle
The concert series Open Air im Schlosshof transforms the historic courtyard of Wittelsbacher Schloss Friedberg into an intimate open-air stage in June 2026. Four evenings, four genres: Rap and hip-hop, Bavarian Urban Brass, Italian tenor vocals, and Italian chansons meet – united by the unique setting of a 13th-century Renaissance residence.
Four Concerts in June
On June 20th, Augsburg rapper Rubi and Viennese rising star Luna Antonia open with a hip-hop and rap double bill. On June 25th, Loamsiada and Loisach Marci present their distinctive style, a blend of alphorn techno, urban brass, and Bavarian dialect pop. June 26th is dedicated to the Impulso Tenors with their show » PASSIONE TOTALE «, a tribute to classic tenor hits and Mediterranean passion. The finale on June 27th features I Dolci Signori with Italian chansons – already sold out at the time of going to press.
Wittelsbacher Castle as a Stage
Wittelsbacher Schloss, once a border fortress of the Wittelsbach dynasty against the free imperial city of Augsburg, has shaped the silhouette of the town of Friedberg in the district of Aichach-Friedberg, Bavaria, since the Middle Ages. After extensive renovation, the castle now houses the Friedberg City Museum and hosts cultural events. The courtyard, with approximately 500 seats, offers an intimate setting where each concert unfolds with an almost familial atmosphere.
Atmosphere and Musical Diversity
The programming follows a clear concept: young, diverse, regionally rooted. While Rubi and Luna Antonia represent the younger hip-hop scene of Augsburg and Vienna, Loisach Marci and Loamsiada embody the Bavarian reinterpretation of traditional sounds with alphorn, trombone, and electronic beats. The Italian evenings with the Impulso Tenors and I Dolci Signori bring a Mediterranean flair to the Bavarian foothills of the Alps.
Friedberg – Gems on the Wittelsbacher Height
The town of Friedberg is located immediately east of Augsburg on a hill from which the Wittelsbachs once secured the Lech border. Today, Friedberg is a lively medium-sized town with a well-preserved old town, the pilgrimage church » Herrgottsruh «, and an active cultural scene. The open-air concert series in the castle courtyard is one of the artistic highlights of the Friedberg summer.
