Four-day open-air Kirmes with free admission in the Wallmerod collective municipality
The Open-Air-Kirmes Nentershausen distinguishes itself in the event calendar of the Wallmerod collective municipality with a clear concept: four days of festival culture under the open sky, with free admission for all visitors. The local associations, bundled in the Nentershausen association ring, organize the festival together and ensure a warm, family-like atmosphere. The Wallmerod collective municipality is one of the regions richest in Kirmes in the Westerwald district, and Nentershausen adds its own emphasis with its open-air format.
The venue is the Festplatz on Eppenroder Straße in the center of Nentershausen. Marquees and protective tarpaulins shield the program from adverse weather and create sheltered areas for catering, dancing, and live music. Carousels, rides, food stalls, and sweet stands complete the Kirmes area.
The four-day program is deliberately aimed at families. Play areas for children, a family afternoon, coffee and cake offerings by the women's association, and age-appropriate activities for children and teenagers characterize the daytime program. In the evenings, live bands, DJs, and dance groups take over the festival grounds, creating a lively atmosphere late into the night.
The Nentershausen association ring combines the strengths of numerous local associations – from fire brigades and sports clubs to music clubs, carnival societies, and youth groups. This collaborative organization makes free admission possible and turns the Kirmes into a joint project of the entire village community.
The concept of free admission clearly distinguishes the Open-Air-Kirmes from many comparable Westerwald folk festivals.
