The Betzdorf Spring Festival 2026 coincides with the '125 Years of Betzdorf Volunteer Fire Brigade' anniversary. This combination enhances the festive character and ensures a significantly expanded programme. Opening at the Town Hall at 1:00 PM
The Spring Festival officially begins at 1:00 PM with the opening ceremony at the town hall. Welcome by the chairpersons of Aktionsgemeinschaft Betzdorf, greetings from the mayor and the leadership of the Volunteer Fire Brigade. Afterwards, the musical performances on the town hall stage begin, providing the musical backdrop for the entire festival weekend programme.
Open Sunday for Shopping
Betzdorf retailers open their shops for the open Sunday. Strolling through the city centre, spring shopping, and meeting vendors characterise the afternoon. Many shops offer special promotions, fashion shows, or small activities outside their doors.
Club Mile in the Expert Car Park
A special feature of the Betzdorf Spring Festival is the club mile in the car park of the Expert market. Here, Betzdorf clubs present themselves with information stands, activities for visitors, and catering. Sports, cultural, social, and hobby clubs showcase their activities and recruit new members. In 2026, the area will be particularly shaped by the fire brigade with its 'Blaulichtmeile' (blue light mile).
Aktionsgemeinschaft Betzdorf e.V.
The organiser of the Spring Festival is Aktionsgemeinschaft Betzdorf e.V., the business association of Betzdorf retailers, restaurateurs, and service providers. 1:00 PM — Opening at the Town Hall
Official opening of the Betzdorf Spring Festival by the board of Aktionsgemeinschaft Betzdorf. Greetings from the Mayor and the leadership of the Betzdorf Volunteer Fire Brigade, celebrating its 125th anniversary. Afterwards, musical performances begin on the Town Hall stage.
Afternoon — Strolling and Music Programme
Main phase of the festival with an open Sunday for shopping in Betzdorf's city centre. Musical performances on the Town Hall stage, strolling through the shops, special promotions outside the retailers' doors. Families with children flock to the city centre.
Afternoon — Club Mile
Parallel on the Expert car park, the club mile with information stands from Betzdorf clubs. Focus in 2026: 125 years of Betzdorf Volunteer Fire Brigade with a 'blue light mile', demonstrations, and encounters with firefighters. Fireman Sam visits the children.
Late Afternoon — Winding Down
Shops close at 6:00 PM, visitors gradually depart. Stage and club mile programmes also end at 6:00 PM. Clean-up work in the city centre in the late evening.
