Spiel- und Sportfest „Voll was los“ on May 9, 2026, at Berliner Platz in Speyer-West — a neighbourhood festival with crafts, go-karts, face painting, and a show program
Speyer-West is a district of Speyer with its own identity — predominantly residential, with several schools, daycare centres, and an active social network. The Spiel- und Sportfest „Voll was los“ is an established event that takes place annually at Berliner Platz — the central square in the district — and makes the social life of Speyer-West residents visible.
The venue is Berliner Platz in Speyer-West — a well-frequented neighbourhood square with ample space for stalls, activity stations, a stage, and movement-based activities. The event runs from 2 PM to 6 PM — a classic family afternoon format that begins after school and kindergarten finishes and ends before dinner.
The program focuses on hands-on activities. Crafts in several workshops, a mini-golf course, go-karts for children, face painting, and game and movement stations characterise the event. Additionally, there is a small stage and show program — performances by local clubs, dance groups, and musicians. A café with cake completes the offerings.
The festival is jointly supported by three key players in neighbourhood development. The City of Speyer provides infrastructure and coordination. The Speyer-West-Netz is an association of social, cultural, and church organisations in the district — from clubs and church communities to independent initiatives. The Quartiersmanagement (Neighbourhood Management) is the professional point of contact for urban development. This organisational structure shows that it is not just about a one-off festival but about ongoing neighbourhood work that becomes particularly visible once a year.
The entire program is free of charge. It is deliberately aimed at all social strata of the neighbourhood — families with different incomes, older residents, young people. This low-threshold accessibility is a central prerequisite for successful neighbourhood development.
The festival is part of Speyer's neighbourhood development efforts and is aimed at families, children, and young people from the West district. Four hours of programming in the May afternoon light.
The exact program for 2026 will be published by the organisers in advance. The structure will follow the proven key points of previous years.
