Six weeks of cabaret and comedy with the motto 'Unfortunately true, still funny'
The Oldenburg Kabarett Days have been a fixture on the German cabaret calendar since 1996. Over the years, the festival has developed into one of the most important showcases for political cabaret, satirical stage programs, and high-quality comedy in Northwest Germany.
The festival motto perfectly captures the self-understanding of modern cabaret: punchlines and reality often form a bitter connection. Those who address current political events, societal upheavals, and personal absurdities on stage often arrive at a form of comedy that combines laughter and recognition.
With a duration of six weeks, the festival differs from shorter festival formats. The events are spread over the entire period, allowing visitors to experience the program in several stages.
The main venue is the Kulturetage Halle on Bahnhofstraße, supplemented by the Unikum. Kulturetage is one of Oldenburg's most important event venues and impresses with its intimate stage atmosphere, which is ideal for cabaret.
Kulturetage gGmbH organizes the Kabarett Days as one of its main programmatic formats. It is also responsible for the Kultursommer, the Voices Festival, and the Winter Varieté, among others.
The 2026 edition honors Abdelkarim, one of the recently awarded stars of the German cabaret scene, while also introducing Lara Ermer, an emerging voice. Simon & Jan bring their political singer-songwriter cabaret to the Oldenburg stage.
The complete 2026 program will be published by Kulturetage. The structure follows the proven key points:
Kulturetage Halle (Bahnhofstr. 11, 26122 Oldenburg) and Unikum.
Tuesday, January 13 to Monday, February 23, 2026.
Tickets via Reservix / Kulturetage. Prices vary by performance.
