Hof in the Westerwald
The municipality of Hof is located in the northern Westerwald and belongs to the Bad Marienberg administrative district in the Westerwald district. With about 700 inhabitants, Hof is a typical Westerwald community – rural, with active club life and a dedicated citizenry. In 2024, SV Hof, which shapes the traditional sports and club activities of the town, took up the idea of an Oktoberfest to bring Bavarian Wiesn tradition to Rhineland-Palatinate.
From Sports Club to Oktoberfest Organizer
The step from a classic sports club festival to an Oktoberfest is not coincidental: Bavarian festival culture is very popular even outside Bavaria, and the "Wiesn" format attracts a young audience that classic summer festivals can hardly reach anymore. With the premiere in 2024 and the second edition in 2025, SV Hof has proven that even a village of 700 inhabitants can establish a Wiesn format.
Festival Grounds Oberroßbach Airfield
The airfield in Oberroßbach – a neighboring district – offers the necessary space for a festival tent with several hundred seats, outdoor catering, and parking. The open altitude in the Westerwald ensures clear views and a festive atmosphere under the October sky.
Program in Bavarian Wiesn Style
The opening takes place on Friday evening at 5:30 PM with a beer tapping ceremony, following the Munich model. A live band plays classic Wiesn hits, followed by hits from Schlager and party rock classics. The menu includes pretzels, Weißwurst, pork knuckles, and chicken prepared in the Bavarian tradition. A Dirndl and Lederhosen competition awards the most beautiful traditional costumes. Beer is served in Maß jugs, and the audience mixes Westerwald down-to-earthness with Bavarian festive joy.
A Growing Tradition
With its 3rd edition in 2026, the Oktoberfest Hof is finally establishing itself in the Westerwald event calendar and proves that customs are also mobile today: What began in Munich has long become common property of German festival culture and finds enthusiastic acclaim in the Westerwald.

- from 5:30 PM: Admission and festival tent opening with beer tapping.
- from 7:00 PM: Live music with Wiesn hits and Schlager.
- during the evening: Dirndl and Lederhosen competition with awards.
- until late at night: Festival operations with dancing and festival tent atmosphere.

Getting there by car
A 3 exit Limburg-Nord, continue on the B 54 towards Westerburg and via Bad Marienberg to Hof. Parking available at the festival grounds.
Getting there by train and bus
Westerburg station (Oberwesterwaldbahn), from there bus connection towards Bad Marienberg. A shuttle for the event is recommended.
