When the Börde becomes a classic car route

The Ohre Classic is a true club event: organized by Ohre Classic e.V., a classic car club based in Wolmirstedt dedicated to the preservation of historic vehicles and the organization of regular meetups. Every year in June, the club showcases its classics — cars, motorcycles, tractors, special vehicles — at the Museumsscheune Schlossdomäne Wolmirstedt and invites participants to a three-day rally through the Magdeburger Börde.

In 2026, the 16th edition will be celebrated. The format remains unchanged: Friday for registration and technical inspection, Saturday for the grand day tour with stops, and Sunday for the show market and a relaxed conclusion. Admission for spectators is free. This is part of the club's philosophy to share the fascination of historic vehicles widely — far from commercial classic car auctions, right among ordinary families bringing their old treasures out for a spin with the whole family.

Excursion to the Hundisburg Brickworks

The highlight is the classic car excursion on Saturday. The destination is the Ziegelei Hundisburg (Hundisburg Brickworks) — a unique industrial monument from the late 19th century, now operated as a museum, whose brick architecture perfectly complements the classic vehicles. The route leads along small country roads through the typical Börde landscape with its vast fields, rows of poplar trees, and four-sided farmyards.

Wolmirstedt is located in the Börde district, just a few kilometers north of Magdeburg. The 17th-century castle with its domain forms the atmospheric base camp. Those looking for classic car ambiance in the state of Saxony-Anhalt and who don't want to spend money on expensive concours events will find an authentic weekend here with hundreds of classics, bratwurst, beer, and the unmistakable mix of petrol talk and club camaraderie.
