Volksfest on the Main riverbank – Carousels, Beer and Bratwurst during Oktoberfest season
The Offenbacher Oktoberfest is Offenbach's own Oktoberfest variant – smaller than the Munich Wiesn, but clearly located in the Bavarian folk festival family in terms of structure and tradition. The venue is the Mainvorgelände am Mainufer (foreland on the Main riverbank), a central area in the city with a direct view of the water.
Visitors can expect the classic program points of a folk festival on the fairgrounds:
As with many folk festivals, there are regular Family Days with discounts on rides (typically once per festival week). Exact dates will be announced before the festival begins.
The Mainvorgelände as the venue is a special feature: While other folk festival areas are located on windswept outskirts, the Offenbacher Oktoberfest nestles directly against the Main riverbank – with a view of the Frankfurt skyline opposite.
Offenbach am Main is an independent city in the Rhine-Main region with around 140,000 inhabitants and close ties to Frankfurt. With the HfG Offenbach (University of Design), the Capitol Theater, and the Frankfurt Trade Fair as neighbors, Offenbach is culturally active. The Oktoberfest complements the city's cultural calendar in autumn.
Offenbach am Main traditionally has two major folk festivals per year: the spring kirmes and the Oktoberfest. Both take place on the Mainufer-Parkplatz, and both thrive on the mix of showman attractions and the Frankfurt skyline view. The Oktoberfest adopts Bavarian customs (Maß beer service, folk music, Schlager) and transfers them into the Hessian context – with a Frankfurt skyline instead of an Alpine panorama.
Classic folk festival right on the Offenbach Main riverbank. The exact lineup of showmen and the daily program will be communicated in advance through the city's channels.
Admission to the festival grounds is free. Rides and food are at usual folk festival prices. Family Day with discounts.
By S-Bahn: S1, S2, S8, S9 to Offenbach Hauptbahnhof or Offenbach Marktplatz, then to the Mainufer (10 min. walk). By car: A661 or B43, exit Offenbach-Zentrum. Parking available at the Stadthaus.
