Curated open-air concert series at Zitadelle Spandau
The Zitadelle Spandau, one of Europe's best-preserved Renaissance fortresses, is located in the far west of Berlin at the confluence of the Havel and Spree rivers. With its courtyard, which becomes the open-air stage for OFF DAYS, it has long been one of the city's most beautiful summer venues — Bach concerts, classical series, and pop open-airs like the Citadel Music Festival have used the grounds for years.
OFF DAYS differs from classic festivals through its curation principle: two to four acts are performed on a single evening, usually with an international headliner and a German or European support act. The programming oscillates between indie pop, neo-soul, R&B, alternative, and electronic acts; past editions have featured artists such as Róisín Murphy, Gossip, Nelly Furtado, and Flying Lotus. In 2026, the festival is spread across two cities: Hamburg on August 18th, Berlin on August 19th — same spirit, different setting.
Those traveling from Mitte or Friedrichshain need to plan some time — the Zitadelle is located directly at the Zitadelle subway station (U7), but it's 30 to 40 minutes from the center. That's precisely part of its charm: instead of a festival meadow with tents, there's a historic courtyard, clear sound, and a mature concert atmosphere. Tickets are limited, and early sell-outs are more the rule than the exception.
On August 19, 2026, the Zitadelle Spandau will once again open its gates for OFF DAYS Berlin, the curated open-air concert series by OFF DAYS Festival GmbH. The Hamburg edition will already take place on August 18th; together, the two evenings form a mini-tour format with a largely identical lineup. For Berlin, Blood Orange (Devonté Hynes) is confirmed as the headliner; additional acts will be added. Tickets start from €59.99 (Early Bird) via the festival website.
The official lineup will be communicated in stages. As of now, the following acts are confirmed — the number will typically be expanded to 3–4 artists:
OFF DAYS is conceived as a one-day open-air concert with a short set sequence: doors open in the late afternoon, performance times between dusk and approx. 11 PM. Entry and stage times will be published in the weeks before the event. The Hamburg sister edition on August 18th shares the lineup.
Early Bird tickets starting from €59.99 (plus booking fees). Sales via Ticketmaster and official festival website. Regular and last-minute tickets are typically more expensive — early booking is recommended.
Zitadelle Spandau, Am Juliusturm 64, 13599 Berlin (Spandau district, Haselhorst locality). U-Bahn U7 to Zitadelle, directly in front of the entrance. Approx. 30–40 minutes from Mitte.
Advance tickets — Early Bird starting from €59.99, regular prices tend to be higher. Sales via the official website and Ticketmaster.
Curated open-air concept, not a classic multi-day festival. In case of bad weather, it's an open-air event with rain gear — umbrellas often not allowed.
