Southwest Germany's largest consumer, agriculture, and folk festival fair
Since 1957, the Oberschwabenschau has been Southwest Germany's largest consumer, agriculture, and folk festival fair. In October every year, it opens its doors for five days in the extensive Oberschwabenhallen Ravensburg (Bleicherstraße 20) — as a mix of consumer fair, folk festival, and industry meeting point for Upper Swabian agriculture. The organizer is Ravensburger Verlags- und Vermarktungs GmbH (R-VG), a subsidiary of the traditional Ravensburger publishing group.
The Oberschwabenschau is divided into thematic halls and outdoor areas. Among the approximately 600 exhibitors, all relevant consumer topics are represented: Building and Living (houses, heating technology, sanitary facilities, furniture), Garden and Landscape (horticulture, plants, outdoor furniture), Energy (photovoltaics, heat pumps, energy consulting), Health and Wellness, Fashion and Jewelry, Lifestyle, Automotive and Mobility, Crafts, and Enjoyment. The new organic market hall (Hall 8) from 2025/2026 brings together certified organic producers from the region — a focus on sustainability and regional products.
Running parallel to the Oberschwabenschau is the agraria Oberschwaben, the trade fair for agriculture, forestry, and stable technology. Both fairs can be accessed with a joint admission ticket. The agraria attracts farmers, contractors, and forestry professionals from all over the Allgäu, Württemberg's Oberland, and the Lake Constance region to Ravensburg.
A large folk festival tent with daily live music and a brass band stage is one of the most popular magnet areas of the Oberschwabenschau. Here, you can enjoy Upper Swabian catering — Maultaschen, Schweinshaxe, Rostbraten, Käsespätzle, along with beer from regional breweries. The South Stage presents performances by local clubs and career presentations, the Green Stage combines live music with agricultural expert lectures.
Special highlights in 2026: Cast appearances from the popular "Tschappel"-TV series (dates TBA), the Youth Agriculture Day on October 17th, and the traditional Farmers' Assembly on October 18th — all three classic program components that underscore the fair's Upper Swabian identity.
Ravensburg (an independent city in the state of Baden-Württemberg, Ravensburg district 08436, with around 51,000 inhabitants) is the historic central city of Upper Swabia — known for its medieval tower city silhouette and the Ravensburger publishing group (Ravensburger Spiele). The Oberschwabenhallen on the outskirts are a modern exhibition complex and host the Upper Swabian public every October.
From October 14th to 18th, 2026, the Oberschwabenhallen will once again open for Southwest Germany's major consumer, agriculture, and folk festival fair. Over 600 exhibitors will occupy the halls and outdoor areas — from house building, garden and energy consulting to fashion, jewelry, enjoyment, and wellness. The parallel agraria Oberschwaben, a trade fair for agriculture and forestry technology, is accessible via the joint admission ticket.
Important program points for 2026: Appearances by the cast of the Tschappel-TV series (dates will be published on the website), Youth Agriculture Day on October 17th, traditional Farmers' Assembly on October 18th. The festival tent offers daily live music and Upper Swabian catering.
