Germany's largest inner-city flea market in Nuremberg's Old Town — Autumn Edition
The Nürnberger Trempelmarkt has been a firm fixture in Nuremberg's event calendar since the early 1970s. Twice a year — on the second weekend in May (spring edition) and the second weekend in September (autumn edition) — the entire Old Town from Hauptmarkt to the Pegnitz becomes a flea market. With up to 200,000 visitors per edition, it is one of the largest inner-city flea markets in Europe.
Unlike smaller weekend flea markets, the Trempelmarkt combines three things: firstly, its sheer size (several thousand stalls); secondly, the unique backdrop of Nuremberg's Old Town (Sebalduskirche, Hauptmarkt, Rathaus, Pegnitzufer, Burgaufstieg); thirdly, the Friday evening until midnight — a large open-air flea market in the dark, with fairy lights and a summer sky. Locals unanimously recommend: Friday evening is the magical time, Saturday is bargain hunter time.
Stall pitches for the 2026 autumn edition will be sold exclusively online via the Nuremberg City Market Office starting Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at 10 AM. Walk-in registrations are not possible. Those who want a stall must book for both days (Friday AND Saturday).
The Nuremberg City Market Office confirms the 2026 autumn edition for September 11 and 12. The Old Town will, as usual, be completely transformed into a flea market — from Hauptmarkt, Sebalder Platz, Rathausplatz, Hans-Sachs-Platz to Insel Schütt and along the Pegnitz riverbank.

Friday evening between 6 PM and 10 PM is peak season with its special atmosphere of lights. Early Saturday morning, the first bargain hunters arrive. Comfortable shoes are recommended for the long distances.
