Audiovisual festival with electronic music in the German-Polish border region
The NOVUM DJ Festival is part of the German-Polish Frankfurt-Słubice Summer of Culture, making it one of the most exciting festival projects in the border region between Brandenburg and the Polish Lubusz Voivodeship. The Oder River separates Frankfurt (Oder) and Słubice – the city bridge has connected them for centuries. The festival represents a cultural link between Brandenburg, the district of Frankfurt (Oder), and its Polish neighbours.
NOVUM is not a classic DJ festival, but an overall audiovisual production. In the park at Stadion SOSiR on the Polish side, the forest becomes a stage featuring electronic music – with Techno and House as focal points – as well as elaborate light installations, visuals, and art objects among the trees. The motto: "sophisticated electronic music, unique art installations, high-quality visualisations".
The park at the stadium is located directly on the water, offering a natural backdrop that the festival deliberately utilises. Instead of huge festival stages, distributed sound zones are created among the trees, complemented by light installations that interact with the music. The atmosphere is aimed at an audience that wants to experience electronic music in a creative environment – far from large clubs.
NOVUM is part of the Frankfurt-Słubice Summer of Culture, a multi-month programme of concerts, theatre, visual arts, and festivals jointly organised by German and Polish promoters. The audience comes from both cities – from Frankfurt (Oder), Berlin, the Brandenburg region, as well as from Słubice, Poznań, and Zielona Góra.
NOVUM 2026 runs for two consecutive nights, from 7 PM to 6 AM each evening, in the park at the stadium on the Polish side of the Oder. Integrated into the programme of the German-Polish Frankfurt-Słubice Summer of Culture, the festival attracts an audience from both countries.
The programme features electronic music with a focus on Techno and House, complemented by art installations, light projections, and visuals among the trees. Admission is free – a special feature that sets the festival apart from many similar events.
The full line-up will be published before the festival begins at kultursommer.frankfurt-slubice.eu.
Free admission – the festival is funded by the Frankfurt-Słubice Summer of Culture.
