As the days grow shorter and cooler at the end of October, the Nordhorner Herbstkirmes brings lights, music, and excitement to the city center. Showmen gather on the central Neumarkt, set up their rides, and create a cheerful atmosphere for five days, making it a fixed date in the event calendar of the Grafschaft Bentheim region.

The fair offers a wide range of rides: nostalgic carousels for the youngest visitors, thrilling roller coasters for teenagers and families, a Ferris wheel with views over the city, and other classics of German showmanship. This ensures that children have as much fun as thrill-seekers.

Bratwurst, crêpes, candied almonds, cotton candy, potato pancakes, and gingerbread hearts are the culinary constants of any fair. At the Nordhorner Herbstkirmes, these classics are found alongside regional specialties and snacks, making an evening visit a social experience.

On Sunday, October 25, 2026, Nordhorn's city center will open its shops in addition to the fair. This combines a visit to the fair with a shopping spree, and the city center experiences one of the busiest days of the year.
