Advent Magic on the Rathausplatz
The Niebüll Christmas Market is one of the few Christmas markets in North Frisia that is open for more than three weeks. While many Advent markets in the region only take place on a few weekends, the market in Niebüll remains open daily from late November until shortly before Christmas – from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. On the central Rathausplatz, colourful stalls, fir trees, and a carousel form a compact but atmospheric festive mile.
Opening with Santa Claus's Arrival
The programme traditionally starts on the first Sunday of Advent with the festive opening at 5:00 PM: Santa Claus arrives on the square, accompanied by angels, elves, the youth fire brigade with torches, and the West-Wind Orchestra. This opening has been a family event for the town and surrounding communities for years.
What to Expect

In the North of North Frisia
Niebüll is the largest town in the northern district of Kreis Nordfriesland and an important transport hub – the car transport trains to Sylt and the NEG trains to Dagebüll for the Hallig ferries depart from here. The Christmas market accordingly attracts visitors from the entire district, from Bredstedt to Leck and Tondern on the Danish border.
