From the last weekend of November until shortly before Christmas Eve, the Rathausplatz in Niebüll becomes the focal point of the North Frisian pre-Christmas season. Under the motto 'Welcome to Christmas,' colourful stalls line up around large and small fir trees – with mulled wine, bratwurst, crêpes, a carousel, and regional specialities. The Christmas market is jointly organised by the town of Niebüll and the Trade and Commerce Association (HGV) and is open daily – the official opening with the arrival of Santa Claus and the West-Wind Orchestra takes place on the first Advent weekend.

In 2026, the town of Niebüll and the HGV will once again transform the Rathausplatz into the traditional Niebüll Christmas Market. As usual, the season runs from the last weekend of November to December 23rd, open daily from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Getting There

By train: Niebüll main station – terminus of the Marschbahn from Hamburg-Altona, as well as a hub for Sylt car transport trains and the NEG train to Dagebüll. The Rathausplatz is about a 5-minute walk from the station. By car: B5/B199 to Niebüll-Mitte, parking in the town centre.
